Echo 10th Anniversary/Return of the Irregular Wine Tasting

Sommelier Supremo Julian Davies returns to help celebrate the Echo's 10th anniversary with the 44th of his Irregular Wine Tastings at the Echoplex Dec. 3.

Davies and his sidekick Roy Lee Gittens are most famous as the muses behind screenwriter Rex Pickett's Sideways, which became the eponymous film.

"The Irregular Wine Tastings went into unenforced retirement," said Davies, "but it has come out of same to help celebrate The Echo's tenth anniversary this December, where, back in the early two-thousands, pairing crap wine with improbable cultural artefacts all began."

It will also feature a screening of the 1980s independent film Miracle Mile shot in Los Angeles along the eponymous stretch.

In typical Irregular tasting style, the tastings will be timed to coincide with the appearance of six local landmarks in the film.

Davies MCs the Irregular tasting with verbal panache and exceptional knowledge of reasonably priced wines like the ones here.
