Echo Park Promoter and Chamber President to Produce Santa Monica Pier Music Series

Mitchell Frank will team-up with Martin Fleischmann to remake the Santa Monica Pier's iconic music events.

Everyone loves the Santa Monica Pier's Summer Concert Series.

And next summer it will get some Eastside expertise in expanding and improving its programming.

Mitchell Frank, founder of The Echo, the Echoplex and Spaceland Productions, will team with veteran concert producer Martin Fleischmann for bookings and production.

Frank is also the president of the Echo Park Chamber of Commerce, and the co-owner of Silver Lake's Malo Restaurant, as well as Downtown's Mas Malo and the soon-to-open Regent Theater.

As previously reported here, Frank also co-produces Santa Monica radio station KCRW's Annual Masquerade Ball.

Frank's talent buyer, Liz Garo is also expected to play a big role in the project.

According to a press release from the Echo, Frank and Fleischmann comprise one arm of the Pier's new attempt to bring top-level programmers to its music, film art, education and active lifestyle offerings. 

The Pier is undergoing a business and physical redesign in anticipation of the new access that the Expo Line will create in a few years.

Fleischmann’s career as independent producer spans over two decades at the Hollywood Bowl.
