Patch Blog: Prepare Your Pet! Blue Collar Town Hall Meeting

What happens to your pets in case of a disaster? Blue Collar Working Dog is hosting a free town hall event to address these questions and more.

In case of emergency have you ever thought about your pets? Do you have enough food for the dogs or cats? Do you know what agencies will take your pet if you can not care for them during a disaster? Do you have your pets vaccinations up to date or a recent picture of you with your pet?

Blue Collar Working Dog will be hosting a town hall meeting on February 19th at 6:00pm regarding this very topic. The idea is to bring the community together in one forum to be able to speak with experts directly and ask the questions they need answers to. Once the people have a good idea of where to start with planning then this can turn into a bigger discussion about how Echo Park and the surrounding communities can help each other in case of emergeny or natural disaster. As the community begins to learn more about how to be prepared then it leads to discussions that carry further than from the living room or the dinner table. The more conversation that is had between neighbors the more one larger plan begins to develop.

So we invite you to visit the Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/PrepareUrPet and RSVP today at prepareurpet@gmail.com Tell your friends and family and begin to think about your own emergency kits and planning right now. Bring your ideas and share with your community in an open environment. Together we can take those ideas and formulate plans in case of an emergency or natural disaster.
