Viewfinder: Street Art in Echo Park

From chickens on bikes to friendly ghosts to giants, Echo Park's art scene takes to the streets.

With the legendary British street artist Banksy and his French counterpart JR putting up high-profile artworks around Los Angeles this week, we have turned our lens on Echo Park's own thriving street art scene. A walk around the neighborhood (and a couple of tips from neighborhood insiders) led us to works by artists such as Shepard Fairey, Buff Monster, Cache and more. And, who knows, maybe Echo Park will get its very own Banksy or JR in the near future.

Check out our photo gallery to see a few examples of street art in Echo Park.

No coverage of the "art wall" at 1272 Sunset that regularly attracts sightseers snapping photos? Tsk tsk.
