This Week in Live Music
Live music picks for the week in and around the Eastside.
Tuesday -: Woods / The Fresh & Onlys / White Fence
$14 dollars gets you in the door for a night of "lo-fi" garage-inflected rock & roll. I've seen all of these bands a number times, and each delivers the rock in its own, nonchalant, way.
Upstairs at , one of my favorite new-ish local bands, The Allah-Las, gig with ex-Mika Miko members new project, Bleached, along with Neverever and Dream Homes. Bonus: It's free.
Wednesday - Greek Theatre: Lykke Li / Best Coast / Fool’s Gold
Eastside vets Best Coast and Fools Gold support Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li under the pines at the Greek in Los Feliz. Li's talent was fully-formed when some friends and I booked her in 2008 at a party we did in Austin. Her craft and skill have only grown since then. Best Coast's sun-kissed garage pop, coupled with afro-poppers Fools Gold, make the bill quite the triple-threat.
Thursday - The Satellite: The Hectors / Count Fleet / Downtown Union
Friday - Head to the Echo Friday night for a laid back evening of indie rock with San Diego's the Donkeys. Red Pony Clock and Son Ark support.

Things get funky at the Greek Theatre Saturday night with Funk Fest featuring Morris Day & the Time / Sugarfoot’s Ohio Players / One Way with Al Hudson / Dazz Band / Mary Jane Girls. Remember: Morris Day made Purple Rain, 'Purple Rain'.
