Head Downtown for Some St. Patrick's Day Fun on Monday

A St. Patrick's Day celebration will be held in Pershing Square on Monday, with about 5,000 people expected to join the festivities. The event will include a motorcycle and foot parade, a concert, food trucks and a beer garden.

The parade will take place from 10:35 to 11:15 a.m., beginning at Fifth and Hill Streets in Pershing Square, south to Seventh Street, west to Olive Street and north to Sixth Street.

The parade will feature the L.A. Police Fire Hogs, composed of 30 motorcyclists; the L.A. Police Emerald Society Bagpipe and Drum Band, featuring 20 musicians; and 32 uniformed men and women from Berlin's police department.

The Pershing Square Stage Ceremony will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon, and will feature Councilmen Tom LaBonge and Jose Huizar as well as the Irish Man and Woman of the Year.

The Irish rock band the Young Dubliners will perform from noon to 1:15 p.m.
