The message of the Festival of Childhood is that violence is something that is learned. When we raise children with kindness and compassion, they grow to be kind and compassionate adults, who aren’t likely to use violence as a tool. It’s a day when families can experience the possibility of nonviolence in the world!

This free event is open to all, and offers many fun opportunities for play, learning, and creativity, including a Rock Climbing Wall, Face Painting, Gardening, Clay Play, Button Making, Music Together, Story Time, Street Painting, many bands, Free To Be Me Drum Circle and expert parenting speakers.

“Childhood is a time of joy, where there is a longing to be creative and play. At the Festival of Childhood we celebrate children’s innate creativity in a safe, healthy, and loving environment,” explains Ruth Beaglehole, MA, Executive Director and Founder of Echo Parenting & Education. Ms. Beaglehole was honored as a 2006 “Woman of the Year” by the California State Assembly.
