About Dragstrip 66:
DRAGSTRIP 66 is/was a long-running monthly queer dance club in LA.
Co-created by Mr. Dan (aka hostess Gina Lotriman) & DJ Paul V. (ex-Indie
103.1), Dragstrip launched in January 1993, and on the 2nd Saturday each
month spent its first 11 years at Rudolpho's of Silver Lake (RIP), then had
a short time at The Echo and Safari Sam's - and now happens with yearly
reunions at The Echoplex. It became a beloved gay community marker and an
all-invited home to unleash all forms of sexuality, self-expression, drag,
cross-dress, & masquerade.
Dragstrip celebrated its 17th Anniversary and Grand Finale as
a regular monthly event with "Hats All, Folks" in January 2010. But the club is now holding yearly reunions in January, and occasional special events.
