Wind, Warm Weather This Weekend

Get out and enjoy it, but watch out for that all-too-familiar smoky smell.

Those evil Santa Ana winds are back, pushing us outdoors to enjoy the unseasonal event, but also pushing up temperatures and the risk of wildfires.

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning through 6 p.m. for coastal Los Angeles and the downtown area.

Gusty winds and low humidity are creating this heightened risk of wildfires.

A wind advisory is also in effect for the area through 3 p.m.

Northeast winds from 20 to 30 miles per hour--and gusts up to 50 miles per hour--are expected through the early evening.

Santa Ana winds blow off-shore and on to the sea, which makes them particularly risky for boaters.

In the Echo Park-Silver Lake it is should be sunny Saturday and Sunday, with winds peaking around 25 miles an hour.

Sunday is also expected to be warm--around 75--with low winds.
