Lines were long at Griffith Observatory to view the Transit of Venus, a once in a lifetime celestial happening.
Watchers took turns using telescopes watching the rare occurence until just after 8 p.m.
Got tied up or too tired to catch it?
Enjoy the photo gallery, which shows some Angelenos making the most of this chance to catch Venus on the go, safely.
We're told many of the affordable options in protective eyewear are available from a store called Rainbow Symphony in the San Fernando Valley.
What's the gear you used to watch the transit of Venus safely?
