Assemblyman Gatto's Father Shot Dead in Silver Lake Home: An "aggressive" investigation was under way Thursday into the killing of Assemblyman Mike Gatto's 78-year-old father, who was shot during an apparent home-invasion robbery in Silver Lake. The body of Joseph Gatto was found by his daughter around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, slumped over a stool at his home in the 2800 block of Bright Lane.

Man Injured in Hit and Run on Temple Street in Echo Park: A man was hospitalized with several broken bones Monday after he was struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run accident while walking in a crosswalk across a street in Echo Park, police said. The incident occurred in front of 1415 West Temple St. at 9:15 p.m. Monday, said Sgt. S. Bailey of the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Traffic Division.

Silver Lake's 'Delusion' Haunted Experience Forced to Close Early: The popular haunted play "Delusion" was forced to shut the doors of its rented Echo Park church early this year following complaints from neighbors, LA Weekly reported. The live action play, which converted the former Bethany Presbyterian Church into its theater, was considered one of Los Angeles' top haunted attractions, according to the show's website.

Driver Killed in Accident on 110 Freeway at Temple Street: A driver was killed today in a single-vehicle accident that closed down the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.The Ford sedan struck a light pole near the Temple Street exit of the freeway around 12:20 a.m., said California Highway Patrol officer Francisco Villalobos.

Dodger Stadium to Host Outdoor Hockey Game in January:Tickets to the Los Angeles Kings-Anaheim Ducks game at Dodger Stadium will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Nov. 19 at Ticketmaster.com. About 20,000 tickets remain for the Jan. 25 game, the first NHL outdoor game to be played in California, a Kings official said this week.
