The Greater Echo Park Elysian Neighborhood Council Prepares for the Future

A training meeting is set for Tuesday to teach on procedural matters.

The Greater Echo Park Elysian Neighborhood Council will be having a neighborhood council training session this week instead of its regular meeting.

The training, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, is needed, according to Ari Bessendorf.

“We’re trying to be a future-oriented organization,” Bessendorf said. “Our goal is to be functioning.”

Tuesday’s workshop, which is open to the public, will include an overview of ethics, workplace issues, sensitivity training and “more procedural” information to help improve the organization as a whole, according to Bessendorf.

The neighborhood council is also now looking for a new CIO or secretary and has an open seat in District Four, Bessendorf said.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, at the Cisneros Learning Academy Auditorium at 1018 Mohawk St.
