That Goose Is on the Go

Echo Park's biggest celebrity--Mario/Maria the goose--could be back in the public eye as early as next Monday.

Echo's Park's biggest celebrity, Mario/Maria the goose, may have yet another new home. The move could happen as early as next Monday.

Dominic Ehrler, Mario/Maria's best friend and devotee, told Echo Park Patch in an email that the plan is to move the animal to the Children's Zoo viewing area that day.

"I should know shortly" he wrote, "but I expect I will walk him to her new digs."

y. The bird had been living near the Echo Park Lake, where her daily walks with Ehrler captured national attention.

Originally believed to be a female, the goose was discovered to be a male while in quarantine, leaving many in quandry about what exactly to call him/her.

Zoo officials plan to give the bird its own space near the animal petting area.
