Sweep-Up Saturdays in Silver Lake

Over the course of the next two Saturdays, our annual homegrown community clean-up party will take place.

The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council will be meeting up with their neighbors this morning at Sunset and Parkman to sweep away the blight and the soot. Next Saturday, they will begin again at Sunset and Lucille and focus on the Junction radius of the boulevard. It starts at 9 and last till noon or so each Saturday.

The city will hand out brooms, rakes, and trash bags galore. The Neighborhood Council is hoping for a successful turnout so it can go for a third Saturday spotlighting the Echo Park end of Sunset.

Trash in the gutters, debris in the corners, weeds growing wild from cracks, overgrown bushes, bubblegum scars on the streets: its all fair game.
