President Barack Obama will give a speech about the economy during a visit to the DreamWorks Animation facility in Glendale next week, the White House announced.

"The American motion picture and television industry is a growing industry and continues to create thousands of jobs all across the country," principal deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said during a briefing Thursday.

Additional details regarding Tuesday's speech will be announced early next week, Earnest said.

The firm is headed by Jeffrey Katzenberg, a longtime Obama supporter. The president had a private dinner with Katzenberg in August during his most recent trip to Southern California.

The trip will be Obama's 16th to the Los Angeles area since taking office. All but three of his trips have included political fundraisers. He has made 10 trips to the area solely for fundraising.

Obama is scheduled to arrive in Southern California Monday afternoon following a visit to the San Francisco area, where he will speak in support of overhauling the nation's immigration laws and attend a fundraiser.

Obama will appear at fundraisers Monday at the Beverly Hills-area homes of Basketball Hall of Famer Earvin "Magic" Johnson and Saban Capital Group Chairman Haim Saban for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Democratic Senate Campaign Committee, according to the website politicalpartytime.org, which tracks political fundraisers across the country.

A coalition of environmental and progressive groups plan to conduct a rally and march in Beverly Hills against the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a regional trade agreement, in connection with Monday's fundraisers.

Opponents of the partnership claim it will undermine state, local and federal laws, including those governing food safety, environmental protections, Internet freedom, workers' rights, health care, drug prices and banking and finance regulations.

The partnership consists of the United States, Australia, Brunei, Chile, New Zealand, Peru, Vietnam and Singapore.

On Tuesday, Obama is scheduled to conduct a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee at the Hancock Park home of Marta Kauffman, a co- creator of the 1994-2004 NBC comedy "Friends," the website reported.

Obama canceled a planed visit to Los Angeles in early September, saying he wanted to remain in Washington, D.C., to focus on a congressional resolution on Syria. He was to have conducted a Democratic National Committee fundraiser and speak at the AFL-CIO convention during that trip.
