The Elysian Valley community and Assemblymember Gil Cedillo, 45 District, will meet Thursday, July 26 at 6 p.m. at the L.A. River Center to hear updates from Metrolink and the Northeast L.A. Residents for Clean Air.
The goal of the meeting is to generate solutions to the air and noise pollution penetrating the neighborhood by Taylor Yard, the Central Maintenance Center on 1555 San Fernando Road.
With the recent announcement of John Fenton’s retirement as CEO of Metrolink, members of Residents for Clean Air are counting on the board and new leadership to ensure recent promises are fulfilled.
Arturu Chavez, District Director, Assemblymember Gil Cedillo, told PATCH:
"Metrolink has kept its word so far and we want to ensure that all agreed upon goals are met; several important goals are now outstanding and the community meeting is a follow up; we plan to keep everyone updated."
Nine nearby schools, Cypress Park Recreation Center, Rio de Los Angeles State Park and the L.A. River Bike Trail are impacted by Taylor Yard.
The L.A. River Center is located on 570 W. Avenue 26, Los Angeles, CA 90065.
