Meeting Planned to Discuss the Silver Lake Reservoir Complex Bypass Line

The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

There will be a chance for locals to find out more information about the Silver Lake Reservoir Complex Bypass Line at a meeting this week.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power will host a meeting on Wednesday to give area residents a chance to hear about the plans for the project as well as to participate in a question and answer session, according to Kim Hughes, spokeswoman for the LADWP.

Hughes describes Wednesday's gathering as a "key" meeting.

"There will be more about how we've been able to address concerns with various options of construction," Hughes said.

These include using a "tunneling strategy" which could be done through local streets as opposed to "going onto the bed, itself, of the reservoir," Hughes said.

The latter would have environmental and construction benefits as well as other advantages, according to Hughes. She said anyone with interest in the project should definitely attend the meeting.

"I think it will be very open, and we're looking for input," Hughes said.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at
Micheltorena Elementary School Auditorium located at
1511 Micheltorena St.
