Underground parking is so yesterday in the architecture world. Why waste a perfectly good roof when it could serve as a garage?
That's the approach taken by Anonymous Architects in a Echo Park project that's shaped like a box with each floor stacked on top of one another, highsnobsociety.com writes.
"This inversion moves the typical ground floor of the house up on the roof and makes the simple act of arriving home and driving onto the roof of the house a surprise every time," the firm's website read." The roof is also usable as deck space and has unobstructed views of the San Gabriel Mountains, which are to the Northeast of Los Angeles."
