Lake Cam: July 16-17 2011

An image a day charting the changes at Echo Park Lake.

Gary Leonard’s over at the 405 closure site snapping away this weekend. So I stopped by the lake Saturday to see that the fountain was still on and the birds were still hanging out despite the fence and the nice new sign.

Meantime, the Department of Public Works’ Echo Park Lake Rehabilitation website has an update about the project: look for a “No Parking Zone” along Echo Park Avenue, graffiti removal, and the arrival of trailers for temporary offices.

JULY 15, 2011

NEW WORK AND PARKING NOTICE

"This week, temporary fencing was installed around the park, providing a secure and safe construction site for the contractor and the neighborhood. The contractor will make every effort to maintain a graffiti-free fence by making regular inspections and removing or painting over any graffiti as quickly as possible.

"During the week of July 17, the contractor will move trailers on-site to house field offices for the construction team, connect temporary utilities (power, phone), and set up temporary sanitary facilities.

"You will also see new signs giving advance notice of a "no parking zone" along the west side of Echo Park Ave. from Park Ave. to the cross walk by the boathouse. This will protect neighborhood vehicles and ease the flow of construction traffic into and out of the site from the nearby work access point. The "no parking" regulations will begin during the week of July 25 and will be enforced from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m."
