Ever wanted to get a close look at those choppers that keep you awake summer nights in Echo Park?
Well, Saturday affords you that chance. Treat yourself to an early July 4th trip: take the 2 to the 210 and the Hansen Dam Sports Complex.
Billing itself as the nation's "premier admission-free, helicopter-only aviation event," the American Heroes Air Show will feature "helicopters from local, county, state, private media and federal/DOD agencies."
Our own Los Angeles Fire Department Air Ops and Golden Stars parachute team will participate in the Opening Ceremony.
Vintage fire, police and other emergency vehicles will also be on display all day.
