Community Corner

L.A. Works Day of Service 2012

Make a lasting contribution to the public safety and well-being of more than 4 million Angelenos by joining forces with L.A. Works, the Los Angeles Fire Department, and more than 1,500 community and corporate volunteers at this historic service event. As an expression of thanks for their service to our city, we will spend the morning transforming the LAFD’s recently purchased Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center into a space that these local heroes can call home.

Volunteer Projects: Volunteers will transform the grounds and buildings at the Training Center through projects that will include planting and landscaping, painting, light construction, unique tile mosaic projects, gardening work and much more!

Requirements: Volunteers for this project must be at least 5 years of age.
