Echo Park Lake Is Wet Again

An iPhone user snapped these on Tuesday.

 

The city's Department of Public Works had most recently said early winter would bring the return of water to the Echo Park Lake.

But then we got these pictures in over the transom.

They're of the northeast corner of the lake.

According to the Eastsider LA, engineers added six inches of water depth to nurture the first batch of aquatic plants for the new wetlands.

A Public Works spokesperson said it was not a refilling, but simply a way to get the plants going.

We will be monitoring to see how and if they thrive.
