The black cat Maceo died near the intersection of Mohawk and Montana streets this week.
The body of the 7-year-old cat was found in a front yard after being devoured by a coyote.
Reader "Brian" told us in an email of several other recent pet killings near that same intersection.
On July 25, a little cat named Echo died in a yard there.
A 17-year-old cat called Kitaro also died in pretty much the same spot in late June.
And a chihuahua was killed the night of July 22 in a yard just behind.
Perhaps there are other deaths as well.
Brian asked," This seems to be happening in the same exact area over and over. Is there anything that can be done?"
We went to Jacqui Navratil, who heads a new community animal advocacy group called Luxe Paws.
She told us, "It's imperative that people do not let their small animals outside ever."
She also says it's important not to do things that attract the animals in the first place.
"Change your behavior. Keep other food sources away from coyotes too and secure outdoor garbage containers," she said.
