Comments of the Week: 'How Many Other Innocent People of This Community Are Sitting in Prison?'
Check out the best, funniest, strangest and most informative things our readers have to say.
We take pride in our work here at Patch and always strive to bring our readers interesting news. However, we must admit, sometimes the most interesting part of a great Patch story is the comments from readers that it sparks.
Here are some of the best, funniest, strangest and most informative comments from Patch stories around the Northeast L.A. and Hollywood Patch sites this past week:
Was Justice Done in the Matthew Turner Case?
Former Highland Park-Mt. Washington Patch Editor David Fonseca had been working on this story for almost a year, and was still not complete when he transfered to Huffington Post Live. He finally finished his extensive research on the case and posted the story earlier this week. Reader Wayne Turner gets our Comment of the Week award for adding even more to this already complicated and tragic story:

David you did an excellent job in bring out the LIES of the LAPD. Something that seems to be a common thing these day. However there is so much more that you left out. The most important this is that Matthew has a Solid Alibi. 1. Probation Officer Richard Romo testified that Matthew was signed in at his office just minutes after the call came into the station. 2. That Juan Velasquez was PAID $5000 to come to testify. 3. That 4 phone calls came into the Station naming "HAPPY" as the shooter and no one ever question him. I'm going to continue with bringing out the Injustice of NORTHEAST LAPD. Watch for future Blogs about this. Believe me NORTHEAST will not like me to tell you what they did. But my question is HOW MANY OTHER INNOCENT PEOPLE OF THIS COMMUNITY ARE SITTING IN PRISON BECAUSE OF A SYSTEMATIC PATTERN DEVELOPED BY NE.LAPD ?

Looking For Cute Clothing At A Cheap Price? Visit The $2 Clothing Store
I was walking down Santa Monica today and saw the $2 Clothing store. All clothes just $2 each?! I knew I had to stop in. While inside I met Amy Cotton ( the lovely volunteer featured in the video) who lives around the corner, volunteers at the shop and loves to shop there too. You may have to dig through the massive pile of clothing in the middle of the store but I guarantee its difficult not to find at least one thing you love.
The $2 Clothing store is located at 7713 Santa Monica boulevard.
Bicyclist Accident
There was a horrific cycling accident on Avenue 64 at Church St. on Sunday night 6/16 around 11:15 PM The cyclist was heading South downhill on Ave 64 and was not wearing a helmet when he lost control. He was gravely wounded and I'm wondering if survived.
I post this now as a large cycling group just past the same intersection - many without helmets - blowing through the stop sign at great speed....
Finally, reader Jayne Kendal is upset that her car was allegedly broken into and her credit cars were stolen. So upset that she posted a $500 reward and and photos of the alleged thieves on Eagle Rock Patch's Announcement Board:
These women broke into my car at 24 Hour Fitness Aliso Viejo Super Sport 6/18 at 5:30 pm. They then went to multiple retailers and used my id and credit cards. It has been a nightmare and I am not alone. They have done this to several people. I am the first to have a picture of them. Please email me helpme9400@gmail.com
if you have any information to help identify these women.
