Children's Hospital Los Angeles Aims to Raise Money through "Junior Ambassadors"

An "Action Day" fundraiser is planned for Aug. 3.

A new program is helping the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles raise money with help from some young members of the community.

The hospital has launched a “Junior Ambassadors” program.

As part of the program, the participants sign up for an “Action Day” in which they will spearhead a fundraiser that can include anything from a car wash to a bake sale.

“Junior Ambassadors is a relatively new program, so this is the first time we are doing Action Day,” said Allison Henry, the hospital’s assistant director of major and annual gifts.  “We do, however, intend for this to become an annual part of the program.”

It is open to everyone, and to get started all you have to do is sign up online. There are also tips on the website about how to process donations on “Action Day” and how to set up an online fundraising page. Children of all ages can participate.

“We welcome everyone to join the program,” Henry said. “We are also happy to have kids participate in Action Day who aren’t part of the program and just want to do something that day.”

All of the proceeds raised will go directly to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The “Junior Ambassadors Action Day” is scheduled to take place on Aug. 3.
