UCLA and KCET have prepared a special program to help Angelenos prepare for the July 16 and 17 closure of the 405 between the 101 and the 10: COUNTDOWN TO CARMAGEDDON: The 405 Closure.
The unprecedented 53-hour closure of this major freeway is anticipated to cause extensive delays throughout the city. The special will discuss the reasons for the closure and also steps that have been taken to ease traffic over that weekend. In addition, it will look at how this freeway expansion may affect traffic flow for commuters in the future.
Former Echo Park resident Kevin Roderick (of LAObserved.com and the UCLA Communications and Public Outreach Department) narrates.
KCET has scheduled the program for Wednesday, July 13, at 8:00pm, with a repeat performance on Friday, July 15, at 8:00pm.
