Stabbing on Echo Park Avenue Early Thursday

The suspects are still at large.

Update: Northeast Division's official police report reflects just one stabbing. Police say that incident will be investigated as a hate crime.

Earlier: Two men were stabbed early Thursday morning as they sat at a bus stop near Echo Park and Montana avenues.

According to the Eastsider LA, they were taken to a hospital with knife wounds to the rib cage and abdomen.

A description of the incident originally appeared on the blog "Your Friend, Savannah" and was picked up by Echo Park Now.

According to the report on "Your Friend Savannah," the two who did the stabbing yelled homophobic slurs, injuring one in the stomach and another in the hip.

Police now believe the suspects to be a man and a woman, both in their twenties. Neither has been apprehended.

Police told the Eastsider LA there was no robbery involved.
