UPDATE: Three Echo Park Pot Dispensaries Targeted by City for Shutdown

The city attorney sent letters Monday to 141 dispensaries that have not applied to be part of a public lottery. Only one of the three Echo Park locations are still operating at the addresses on the list.

Three marijuana dispensaries with Echo Park addresses are on a list of 141 clinics targeted by the city attorney for immediate shutdown.

Those are Divine Healing, and Temple Herbal Collective.

But only Sunset Organic Center is currently doing business at the address on the city attorney's list.

As of Thursday night Divine Healing and Temple Herbal Collective were closed or relocated--both of them, according to bystanders, for at least several months.

The city attorney's office released the list Wednesday. Those on it had not registered as required with the city clerk's office to participate in a lottery to limit dispensaries in Los Angeles to 100. No date has been set for that lottery

The Los Angeles Times reported Monday that the city attorney's office said it had sent warning letters to the facilities on the list, ordering them to close immediately.

Penalties could include daily fines of $2,500 per code violation, plus the city's costs to investigate and close the business.

Several other local dispensaries--including California Caregivers, the Higher Path Holistic Care Collective, and Hyperion Healing--avoided the action by applying for the city-run  lottery to designate 100 cooperatives that will remain in business in the city.

Divine Healing was located at 1501 W. Sunset Blvd.  Temple Herbal Collective was at 2530 Temple St.
