The New L.A. Folk Festival

Four stages transformed the Zorthian Ranch, high in the hills above Altadena Saturday. Echo Park resident Daiana Feuer produced the event.

Altadena's Zorthian Ranch has long been known for its big parties for the arty types.

Saturday's 2nd New L.A. Folk Festival was no exception.

Traditional and contemporary folk and old-time music filled four stages literally "found" within the buildings, terraces and art installations at the ranch.

About 300 people came to roam the 45 acres of the ranch, listen to music and, later in the evening, square dance in the horse ring to music by Triple Chicken Foot. 23-year-old harpist Ana Caravelle was another highlight.
