Shepard Fairey to Paint Anti-War Mural in Silver Lake

Baller Art Ware invites the Echo Park muralist and provocateur to leave a message.

There's fresh red paint on the shed outside the Baller Art Ware on Tracy Street in Silver Lake.

It's freshly painted because on Monday Shepard Fairey and his team will create a new mural there.

It will say "Make Art, Not War," in white letters reversed out of the red background.

Baller manager Carol Blanding invited Fairey to paint the piece through his best friend, who she has known for many years.

Fairey is also a Baller customer, stopping by for paints and other materials on occasion.

A long-time Silver Lake resident, Blanding knew the busy commuter traffic on Hyperion Avenue would make sure the message wasn't lost on folks.

The building's owners have also approved the installation.

AND TELL US: What do you think of this new mural going up along changing Hyperion Avenue?  Do you have any advice for Fairey?
