Sad Ending for #FindTesla Search

Readers of Echo Park-Silver Lake read late last week about

Berg, the artistic director at the Upright Citizens Brigade, had learned about the dog's disappearance on Dec. 28, when he was in Connecticut for the holidays.

Soon hundreds had been mobilized via Twitter in the search for the fluffy poddle mix. 

Searchers huddled in Berg's Eastside apartment, where sightings of the dog were tracked on a computer map.

It brought the neighborhoods of Echo Park, Silver Lake and Los Feliz together, but it wasn't enough.

Apparently a student of Berg's found the unfortunate animal dead Friday near the 110 Freeway.

Berg, understandably, is keeping a low profile about the death, noting it via Twitter as follows:

Ticket sales from Sunday night's performance of "Sentimental Lady" at the United Citizens Brigade Theater on Frankline Avenue were donated to the Bill Foundation, in honor of Tesla.

Berg is asking that others who want to help remember Tesla reach out to the Bill Foundation, which helps owners find their lost dogs,  as well.
