Principal Selected for Echo Park's New School

Shannon Leonard will lead the school into its first year.

Experienced educator Shannon Leonard has been selected to lead Echo Park's new school, Central Region Elementary School (CRES) #14.

According to a release, Leonard has experience as both a teacher and leader in urban and international settings. He has his B.A. from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virgininia, and has masters in education from Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles and UCLA.

He also received his California administrative credential from UCLA’s Principal Leadership Institute.

Since being selected to run the school in March by the Los Angeles Unified School District, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy has been conducting interviews for several months, and lately narrowed the search to two candiates.
