Parents, Kids Get Tour of New Echo Park School
The new Sandra Cisneros Academy hosted a resource fair and school tour Saturday.
Parents and students toured the new campus of Sandra Ciseneros Learning Academy in Echo Park Saturday morning.
The new campus is at 1018 Mohawk Street, just south of Sunset Boulevard near Alvarado Street.

Principal Shannon Leonard led the tour.
Leonard walked the group down a first floor hallway through the still-evolving library and outside to the lunch area and a view of the new soccer field.

Subway sandwiches were served.
Leonard is very excited to finally be on campus and said, "I know we will do well."
Camino Nuevo Charter Academy was awarded the contract to manage the school after a lengthy application process under LAUSD's Schools Choice Program.
SCHOOL IS STILL ACCEPTING APPLICANTS
The campus is still accepting students, from both within its LAUSD boundaries and beyond.

Sandra Cisneros is also sponsoring a soccer tournament for kids aged 7 to 12 next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
