Los Globos Sues Los Angeles for $10 Million

Owner Steve Edelson believes the city is using delay tactics to keep him from using his first-floor space.

 

Steve Edelson, the owner of Silver Lake's Los Globos nightclub, has filed a lawsuit against the city for $10 million in damages.

The L.A. Weekly reports that the suit comes after what Edelson's attorney calls "sandbagging" in the club's efforts to get an operating permit for its bigger, first-floor space.

The opening of the first-floor space had worried neighbors, concerned about the noise and congestion it might add.

According to the Weekly, Los Globos has done a massive public records request, that Edelson claims shows the club was targeted for Building and Safety department violations in June 2012.
